Why do we love this wine?

We’re talking rich, we’re talking bright, we’re talking a concentrated 100% chenin blanc number that’s deserving of a spot on every wine list in town. Fun fact: The grape landed in South Africa in the 1800s and today it has double the acreage compared to France. This one is a little mineral, with a touch of melon and very, very drinkable.

Christian Eedes

Grapes from various old-vine sites. Some reduction before peach, citrus and hay. Good depth of fruit and well-integrated acidity – as with many examples of Swartland Chenin from this vintage, this wine is textured and substantial even at low alcohol, 12.5% in this instance. Not overtly expressive but still layered.
