Soave is a region in Veneto that produces exclusively white wines, primarily from the native grape garganega. Most of the wines are dry, citrusy and minerally. Younger Soave, such as this bottle from Rocca Bastia, is bright, gentle on the palate and surprisingly floral.

Why do we love this wine?
Soave ages very well, developing more orange and toasted almond characteristics as time goes on. The acidity is quite moderate, making for the perfect pairing with a variety of seafood dishes. Rocca Bastia is produced by Bennati, a family run winery in Veneto that was started 100 years ago by Antonio Bennati and his son Annibale. Now under the care of the fourth generation, Bennati has been upholding its family traditions while advancing its winemaking techniques. This Soave is the perfect example of a classic Italian wine crafted in a smooth and flawless modern style.
