Why do we love this wine?
A classic chardonnay/pinot noir blend; pretty, floral aromatics with hints of wild strawberry and baking spice open up to an intense yet delicate palate with racy acid, zippy citrus and complex bready notes brought about by 7 years on lees before release. This is a serious wine, but it's fun. The story goes that the winemaker created this lovely little number for his daughter when she was 12, to be enjoyed at her 18th birthday. That sort of sums it up. Yes, this wine has had some serious time to turn into what it is today but the whole point of it is that it's to be enjoyed at a party or celebration. For this price, we're trying to plan parties just so we have an excuse to show this one off.
