Why do we love this wine?
Zinfandel has the reputation for being rich, plump, jammy and opulent to the extreme. All good things. But it can also be hotter than a day in the desert and boozier than a wedding. Both things this neatly avoids. If you like your wine full of full-fruited fun, accompanied by a good lick of American oak, but prefer it to not make your tequila look like a soda, this is just the ticket. Velvety cherries and berries, oak tannin and aroma, supple and satisfying. It’s no surprise that the reviewers at the Halliday Companion are big fans.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
