Whisky and wine are a bit of a pigeon pair. They just work so well together. Red wine with dinner, then a whisky to finish off the evening. You know we love our Aussie reds here at the ‘Fo, so it makes perfect sense for us to dip our toes into the ‘spirit’ world with an Aussie whisky that’s been aged in shiraz barrels. Enter Starward, a distillery amongst Australia’s upper echelon, and one that just happens to be around the corner from the Vinomofo office. It’s a tough job we do but no need to thank us.

Let us introduce you to Nova, Starward’s famous single malt whisky that’s been awarded Gold and Double Gold at some of the world’s most distinguished spirits competitions. It’s smooth, vibrant and bottled at a very approachable 41% ABV. The palate hints at red berries and orchard fruits with alluring notes of vanillin, caramel and spice from the ageing process. Drink it neat, drop an ice cube or two into it, or concoct your favourite cocktail with it. Every option is a winner.

We’re still Vinomofo through and through, but perhaps Whiskymofo isn’t such a bad name either. Have a dram of this and you’ll see what we mean.
