Why do we love this wine?
Deeply complex, layered, and heady. This is something truly special. We tasted this wine as part of a broader back-vintage tasting, and we were taken by how completely not-over-the-hill it was. In fact, it is still charging up the hill with drive and power. We have put a conservative drinking window of now 'til 2035 on this, but I wouldn't be surprised if it drank well into the 2040s. A winter berry mix and fresh jam concentrate sits at the centre of the palate. Leather, cedar, and sweet spices are emerging but not yet dominating. An intense liquorice underscores the wine throughout. Power, concentration, and ripe tannin mark the finish. Ten months of new French oak weaves its way through ripples of fruit, chocolate, and earthy delights. This is centre-of-the-table, something to celebrate wine.
