Why do we love this wine?
Given the reverence with which we treat West Aussie chardonnay, it's always curious to me that their pinot (chardy's usual accomplice) doesn't garner the same attention. This little number makes a fine case for WA as a pinot powerhouse. Deep plummy goodness at the core with bright blue and red berries on show. Some sweet spice and smokey char accent the fruit which is centre stage. They have created a pinot for everyone here; still lithe and supple with the palate weight to keep the shiraz and gsm crowd coming back for more. Complexity, plushness, and balance - what more could you possible ask for?
