When this hits the decanter it begins the process of unfurling. I recommend you dip into it every now and then to catch in it's various stages of development - they're all remarkable. Smoke and char give way to fresh, vibrant fruit. The structure of the wine is quite imposing (which lends itself to age-ability) though it never dips into overbearing. We've got the quality of the fruit and the experience of the winemaker to thank for that. These wines are synonymous with outstanding Australian production for a reason, they are year-in, year-out picture perfect. If you're lucky enough to nab one of these, you don't need to rush it, it'll last another quarter-century without missing a beat.
