The thriving sandy soil vineyards in the commune of Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens are dominated by two classic red grape varieties; cabernet franc and merlot. It’s here in this quaint corner of Saint Émilion where we fortuitously discovered Château Hautes Versannes. With a mere ten hectares planted, it is a wonderful wine find, and a pleasure to share these deeply flavoured Bordeaux reds with you.

This is a powerful blend, with a notable leafy aroma followed by quality oak . As it is youthful, it does deserve a bit of air to breathe. The flavours are plummy, with some dried fruit character and tantalising tannins that give the wine restraint, and are not too drying. Although the wine is full-bodied as expected, it finishes classy and elegant. A Bordeaux experience to savour.
