Why do we love this wine?
So here we are, with a nine year old museum release from a powerhouse of the Clare Valley. This offering is about value and quality, mofos, pure and simple. Huon Hooke once said that this wine was of such calibre it had "a minimum 40-year lifespan". By all reports, this wine is giving Wendouree reason to look over their shoulder. This harnesses the potential of well-managed fruit in a very good Clare vintage, and bring it to heel in a wine that has the tension of power and elegance that rarely makes it into bottle.
