That’s how I felt when I first poured this wine into my glass, and I’ll stand by it for as long as this wine can cellar (we’re talking decades, mofo).

In the 1990’s, Florentino Arzuaga began work on what is now the famous La Planta estate vineyard in the heart of Ribera del Duero. From this vineyard comes Arzuaga Crianza: their flagship wine. The vines sit at nearly 1000 metres above sea level in chalky clay and limestone soil. 16 months in French and American oak give structure to this powerful wine, one that is ripe, spicy, full of red and black fruits and even offering hints of balsam. This is serious stuff right here, so much so that it earned a Platinum award and 97 points from the Decanter World Wine Awards. Not too shabby, hey?
