2x Hahndorf Hill White Mischief Gruner Veltliner 2023
White — Gruner Veltliner
Adelaide Hills — Australia
A vivacious, textural, flavour explosion - one of the best iterations of gruner veltliner outside of Austria and definitely one of the best in Australia.
This wine is unique, and pretty special. A producer who are amongst the most iconic of Adelaide Hills wineries, and are especially known for their alternative Austrian varietals such as grüner veltliner. In fact, they produce some of Australia’s best examples of the variety - a previous won world’s best grüner outside of Austria. The care and detailed attention that has gone into this wine is astounding, and it shows. Lean and vibrant, with notes of cumquat, green apple, mandarin and lime, this is a real showstopper.

2x Altus Rise Wildlight SBS 2022
White — SBS
Margaret River — Australia
Is that the cool breezes of Margaret River wisping through the air or has someone just cracked a bottle of this SBS? Sauvignon blanc and semillon have long been beautiful blending buddies and with examples like this it's easy to see why, just like it's easy to see why these bottles disappear so quickly. Craft your cheese board, stir that risotto, or order some fish and chips with your pals around, just make sure you have another bottle handy.

2x Windowrie Estate Pig in the House Picpoul Blanc 2023
White — Other White
Central Ranges — Australia
Aromatic, delicate and wholly pleasing. A fantastic accompaniment for oysters, prawns or any other seafood you can think of! If you love gris/grigio, sauv blanc or albarino, this is right in your wheelhouse.
Bright but delicate aromatics of pear, apple and zesty lime set up a subtly structured palate with refreshing acidity and a soft, lingering finish. Looking to try something new without completely leaving your comfort zone? This is the one. Although unique in its elegance and subtlety, there's plenty of familiar flavours for the Australian palate on offer, zesty, refreshing, citrusy and slightly tropical. A complete and interesting table-white and, as the producer says, "this wine is a great accompaniment to oysters, seafood in general, and sunny afternoons".
You’d pay $28 full price.

2x Oxbow Fiano 2024
White — Fiano
Adelaide Hills — Australia
Fresh, fragrant, dry and wonderfully textured. We can't think of a better wine to pop on the table at a long lunch in the sun. Powerful enough to carry food, light and bright enough to carry on without - this one gets an invite to every party.
With a lively mineralic texture, vibrant natural acid and abundant apples/pears, this is a wine that fits itself into any and all social situations. Fiano has really been making a name for itself in Australia over the last few years and there's a few reasons for that. Reason one: it's a very durable grape. Fiano has the capacity to ripen in warmer, sun-drenched environments whilst still maintaining fantastic natural acid - perfect for the Australian climate. Reason two: This one's the most important. The fiano being made in this country is just yummy. It might not be the most technical of wine descriptors, but here at Vinomofo, we think yumminess is kind of a big deal. You won't be disappointed with this malleable little number.

2x Fabrizio Vella Bianco Organico 2021
White — Other White
Sicily — Italy
Drinkers of vermentino, pinot grigio and even savagnin have just found a new weapon for the arsenal. This wine was created with quite a specific purpose in mind, fighting the Sicilian heat. Well, we're not in Sicily but geez can we get some heat that needs fighting. Perfect for a long Australian Summer.
Made from 100% Catarratto, a white grape native to Sicily, this is throw-back to the traditional winemaking methods and ethos that put Sicily on the map (wine-wise). The wine has a complex nose of bright citrus, lemon zest and white flowers along with hint of tropical fruits and a slight herbaciousness. Fresh, crisp, dry with a peppy minerality on the finish. As refreshing as it gets.
You’d pay $24 full price.
