Why do we love this case?
We say shiraz, you say syrah. Regardless of pronunciation, one thing is undisputed, we Aussies rock on an international stage when it comes to producing world-class shiraz. So as a homage to ourselves (well, we all love to pat ourselves on the back occasionally), we’ve pulled together a selection of shiraz that will make you feel as pleased with yourself as we do when we’re drinking these.
Each six pack contains ONE bottle of:
1x Archery Road Longbow Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
From the prized southern part of the sun-drenched Barossa, steeped in quality grown shiraz (you know we’ve done the research) It’s right here, where the surrounding views offer the picture-perfect painting; a diversity of colours from the tree leaves to the soils, which in turn give our favourite grape - shiraz - all the lashings of character we as adults have grown to become obsessed with. A blend of hand-selected low-yielding parcels, you’ll find generous flavours of black fruit, olive and pepper spice, backed by silky tannins, yet the wine is intense on the palate, with a great depth and length. Such a complex finish, and a damn fine gem of a shiraz.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
You’d pay $80 full price.

1x Mitolo Cantiniere Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This 2018 shiraz starts with blueberries and plums on the nose, followed by a pretty perfume. The palate is all McLaren with dense red and black fruit, richness and abundant tannin. It’s as intense, as complex, as high quality, as powerful as you are going to find, with all of that fruit supported by roasted nuts and spices, and super dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is indeed bold, but not overwhelming, as tannin dances with fruit, acidity, earthy notes and a long and moreish finish.
You’d pay $70 full price.

1x Geoff Merrill Pimpala Vineyards Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Not to be confused with Geoff Merrill’s ‘Pimpala Road’ range, these Pimpala Vineyard wines are careful barrel selections from Geoff’s reserve range. This has spent no less than 20 months in French and American oak barrels, plus over three years in the cellar to let all its powerful fruit and decadent oak flavour all meld together. It’s like liquid black chocolate cake, with the Vale’s dark chocolate and heady spice flavours oozing head-on into dark cherry, blackcurrant leaf and roasted coconut. We’re always happy to see Geoff’s wines in the warehouse, and even happier to see them in our glass.
You’d pay $65 full price.

1x Nick Haselgrove Clarence Hill Reserve Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
If you like full bodied SA shiraz then this is a must! It’s beautifully rich, dark red in the glass and has all of the hallmarks of premium McLaren Vale shiraz, including the hefty bottle and cork. It’s the kind of wine that makes you happy it’s winter - the wind can howl, the rain can pour, but it doesn’t matter because you have this luscious wine to warm you up and keep you company. It’s full of dark fruits (plum and blueberry), toasty oak and smooth tannins, ready to drink now and evolve over the next 10 years.

1x Hewitson Rowland Flat Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
Rated a 9/10 vintage from the Halliday Wine Companion, 2021 in Barossa provided perfect conditions for high quality and yields. Gee, this producer has been popular with our mofo members by providing solid, true-to-style wines time and again. This is a bold shiraz. Deep, dark and rich. A partial whole bunch fermentation contributes to herbaceous aromatics alongside deep, fleshy blood plums. A good 14 months maturation in oak barrels frames the fruit over the palate with notes of chocolate and an exotic tobacco finish will linger. It’s a smart wine, ready to enjoy now and in ten years given the right cellaring.
You’d pay $50 full price.

1x Kilikanoon Golden Hillside Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Clare Valley — Australia
I first came across Kilikanoon Wines in my early twenties - I was a huge Riesling fan and they made a cracker so I fell in love early and the value of this one is unbelievable. The perfect bottle to crack on a Friday night to kick off your weekend. Get home, pour yourself a glass, start cooking and hope there’s some left by the time you’re done. We’ve bought the Golden Hillside for years now, and it just keeps getting better and better. – Justin Dry, C0-Founder
Kickass Kili have done it again. Their inimitable Golden Hillside shiraz is a firm ‘fo fave, and consistently one of the fastest selling wines we bring in. Not surprising, really. Rambunctious cherries and burstingly-juicy berries are just contained by a toasty coating of fabulous French oak. No rush to drink this beauty, it’ll keep the rest of your cellar very good company for a decade, easy.
You’d pay $45 full price.
