Why do we love this case?
We’ve gathered some golden grape goodness from some of the best riesling academies to get your mind and palate ticking. These are compelling wines that champion fruit purity, piercing acidity, florality, mineral complexity, and so much more. There's a reason why if you ask any somm the world over 'what are your favourite grape varietals?' the answer will invariably include 'riesling.'
1x Kilikanoon Mort's Block Riesling 2022
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
We’re not always all about the numbers, but sometimes they speak for themselves. In this case: 100% hand picked, 100% Watervale, 96pts from James Halliday, and ageing potential beyond the next 10 years. Those, mofo, are pretty good numbers. You’ll get the citrus driven palate, sure. But what we have here goes well beyond that linear crisp style; it delves into green apple, honey, white blossoms and granitic minerality. This is a little waxy and weighted, it coats the palate aiding in a long and boisterous finish. We’re ticking all the boxes on the scorecard for this one.
You’d pay $25 full price.

Clare Valley — Australia
This single vineyard riesling from Penna Lane impresses critics, connoisseurs and collectors every vintage. It's one of the standouts from this boutique winery. A Clare Valley classic, and so much more. From the Watervale sub-region of the famed valley, think Bickford’s lime cordial with fresh florals and a soft, generous palate. Richness, crispness and liveliness abound. There’s no doubt that a ripper like this is sure to please you now and in years (and years) to come.

1x Auld Family Wines Wilberforce Riesling 2022
White — Riesling
Eden Valley — Australia
Oh, the purity! We know riesling is a pretty honest grape, but this one has more integrity than you can poke a stick at. How did we get here? Well, the producer took the fruit from the cooler southern end of the Eden Valley and harvested it in the evening, allowing for grapes with perfect ripeness and no stress from excessive heat. This leads to balance, purity and intensity in a finished wine. There are floral notes on the nose, a chalky and minerally texture on the palate and flavours of lime and mandarin, leading to bright acidity on the finish. This is quintessential Eden rizza, refreshing and vibrant, only weighed down by the bling of reviews.

1x Atlas Home Block Riesling 2022
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
This is a stunning wine - zippy, lifted, aromatic rizza from the talented hands of Adam Barton at Atlas Wines (a verified Mofo fave producer). Green apple and pithy lime juice - pretty classic for the region. Limestone minerality and bristly acidity make for a playful, energetic drinking experience. It's bright and showing pure fruit expression, coupled with some floral aromatic complexity. This is super stylish and completely classic in every way.

1x B Minor Riesling 2022
White — Riesling
Nagambie Lakes — Australia
The winemaker behind this riesling has experience running the show at the crème de la crème of Victoria’s best wineries (and numerous stints in France). This riesling is an intense yet pure expression of place from 40+ year-old vines. Leaping with floral aromatics, think ginger and jasmine, with a crunchy apple flavour fleshing out into the riper pineapple spectrum. The acidity is mouthwatering but offers a perfectly balanced riesling frame - the basis for subtle yet persistent flavours. Pure perfection.
You’d pay $30 full price.

1x Ulrich Langguth 12° Gourmet Trocken Riesling 2020
White — Riesling
Germany — Germany
This fine example of an early drinking Riesling from the Mosel Valley is gently aromatic and offers up attractive slaty, pear and citrus fruit aromas with a dusting of spice. There is a lovely subtlety to this wine that is hard to ignore. Dry with just a touch of balanced sweetness, it is sleek and light-weight, defined by its zippy acidity which supports a fine although delicate finish.
You’d pay $40 full price.
