If ever there was a grape capable of magic, it’s pinot noir. Little wonder it’s key to many of the most expensive wines in the world. Luckily, there’s none of that pomposity here.

Why do we love this case?

Here’s a mix covering some of the very best regions in the world. From perfumed and pretty to dark and intense, there’s something for every occasion and every food pairing.

Included in this case:

1x Anderson Hill O Series Pinot Noir 2023

Red — Pinot Noir

Adelaide Hills — Australia

There's no secret to this wine, just high-quality fruit from high-altitude Hills vineyards and some clever use of oak. Sounds simple enough, but the reality is that no matter how simple the winemaking process may be, the end product is a complex beast. Black and red fruits meet and intertwine through the nose and into the palate with distinctly regional notes of savoury spice and forest floor. The bright natural acid and fruit weight allows this wine to be enjoyed with or without food whilst and underlying seriousness and complexity create a pinot that'll hold up alongside anything from cheese boards to venison. Fans of Burgundian pinots will find plenty to get excited about here.

You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Woodside Park Reserve Pinot Noir 2023

Red — Pinot Noir

Adelaide Hills — Australia

Ripe and balanced, this pinot from a boutique producer in the Onkaparinga valley is bursting with nuance. Pinot is not an easy find at the moment, let alone getting one that really knocks your socks off- but this is the little pinot that could. Fine grained tannins remind you that this wine isn't just here for a good time, but it's sure to provide it in spades. Notes of maraschino cherry and allspice upfront, with a lingering burst of amaro and orange on the finish. You'll be reaching for the next glass before you know it.

You’d pay $40 full price.

1x Rob Dolan Wines Pinot Noir 2023

Red — Pinot Noir

Victoria — Australia

You'll know Rob Dolan Wines for their reputation for excellence. They've been making some of the most iconic wines of the Yarra Valley and broader Victorian region for decades. This is, of course, no exception to that spirit of excellence; fresh red raspberries and pulpy cherry meat fine, slippery tannin structure. There is sappy acidity that frames the enduring finish. A brilliantly delivered wine from a master of their craft.

You’d pay $35 full price.

1x Ghost Rock Sacrifice Pinot Noir 2024

Red — Pinot Noir

Tasmania — Australia

Although borderline inaccessible by road, Tassie's scarcely-touched Cradle Coast continues to produce stunning Tasmanian pinot noir. Medium bodied, complex red and black fruit, slight earthy notes and a long, classy finish. Sounds like Tassie to us!
Bruised raspberry, black cherry, warming spice and a subtle, but ever-present, touch of oak. Yep, this is Tassie pinot through and through. From Tasmania's wild and untamed Cradle Coast, the refined beauty of this wine seems incongruous with its place of origin. That is, of course, until you look a little deeper. There's a subtle gnarliness underpinning every aspect of this wine, like a boxer with a pretty face. Just because something's completely gorgeous, doesn't mean it can't pack a punch.

You’d pay $36 full price.

1x Elysian Springs Silent Waters Pinot Noir 2023

Red — Pinot Noir

Adelaide Hills — Australia

This is a clever wine, in a lot of ways. It's pretty hard to find great pinot noir at the moment. The last few vintages have been tough, and getting maximum flavour with a minimal pricetag is a near impossible task. One clever way to build texture and complexity in pinot noir is to partially ferment the whole berry clusters. The producer of this wine employed this method with 30% of the fruit before letting the wine age in 50% new French oak. What’s in the bottle is elegant, yet concentrated. Fruit is expressed as cherries, plums and strawberries and there are secondary notes of spice and earth. You’ll feel semi-serious drinking this lovely pinot, even if it is a Tuesday night in your PJs.

You’d pay $35 full price.

1x Austin's Wines 6ft6 Pinot Noir 2024

Red — Pinot Noir

Geelong — Australia

Geelong is, for me, the best pinot noir producing region outside of Burgundy. Not the USA's Oregon, not New Zealand's Central Otago - little old Geelong on Victoria's south coast.
Fresh and inviting, this will give a lot with just a little swirl in the glass. Raspberry coulis, winter strawberry, some sweet spice, fennel, thistle. The complexity far outpaces its price tag. The wine is structured without sacrificing finesse, which means it's pretty without being thin or wussy. This is dangerous value at $15 and worth stocking up because we don't anticipate we'll be able to hang onto it too for long.

You’d pay $25 full price.
