Why do we love this case?
Centuries of hard study and impossible calculations by boffins all over the world have gotten us no closer to figuring out whether we prefer gris or grigio. And you know what, we're happy sitting on the fence. In this case, you'll get to explore the wonders of both styles. It’s pretty much the best way to get around the grape.
2x Matahiwi Estate ME Pinot Gris 2022
White — Pinot Gris
Wairarapa — New Zealand
Matahiwi Estate’s Wairarapa pinot gris is all about capturing the purity of fresh fruit in the bottle. Nothing beats enjoying the beauty of a wine region in person, but knocking back a glass or two would surely come a comfortable second. With musky aromatics, juicy apples and ripe pear tones bolstered by generous and balanced spice and a powerful body to boot, this really is Kiwi pinot gris in a nutshell. This ‘drink now’ style is certainly showing its best while young and (we think) paired with Moules Marinieres (that’s French for creamy, garlicky mussels) and hunks of oven toasted breadstick. Did someone say lunch in the sun?

2x Windowrie Estate Pig in the House Pinot Gris 2023
White — Pinot Gris
Central Ranges — Australia
A bright, snappy gris. Fresh and lifted stone fruit aromatics leap out of the glass. The palate is quite soft and supple; apricot cream and lemon pith. There's a little bit of rocky minerality on offer, too. This is classic, generous pinot gris that remains true to style. An extremely versatile wine – it'll be just as comfortable next to a seafood feast as it will with a mid-week pizza on the couch.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Pyren Vineyards Tanwood Pinot Gris 2023
White — Pinot Gris
Pyrenees — Australia
The Victorian Pyrenees is not the first place that you'd go searching for a bottle of pinot gris, but you certainly should start. With a classic climate for aromatic white wines, this is all about the fleshy white peach and pear drop characters that are hard to resist. Add in a dose of tartness somewhere in the realm of green apple and almond skin, and you've got the perfectly balanced glass.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Twin Valleys Pinot Grigio 2023
White — Pinot Grigio
King Valley — Australia
Italy’s leading grape varieties have an established home in the King Valley, including the ever-popular pinot grigio. This example of the grape is bright with citrus and pear on the nose and freshness from the nose to the palate with a crisp, mineral finish. When given more time to develop in the glass, the wine shares a greater depth to its expression. Ripe red apple, nashi pear, and hints of sherbet on the nose. From a weekend BBQ to a plate of spaghetti marinara over candlelight, it’s a flexible food wine that is sure to please.

2x Gapsted Limited Release Pinot Grigio 2022
White — Pinot Grigio
King Valley — Australia
The Alpine and King Valleys are national leaders for producing delicious grigio. It’s likely thanks to all the Italian influence up there. There’s more Italian surnames floating around those parts than in The Godfather. So really, you’d expect them to know what they’re doing with pinot grigio.
This’ll keep you cool and refreshed on the hottest of days. It’ll please everyone from Auntie Karen to your grigio-guzzling bestie. Don’t turn your nose up at a great wine doing great work, even if it is as ludicrously low priced as this. Trust in this great value vino. It’ll repay you in flavour, every damn day.
