Why do we love this case?
Centuries of hard study and impossible calculations by boffins all over the world have gotten us no closer to figuring out whether we prefer gris or grigio. And you know what, we're happy sitting on the fence. In this case, you'll get to explore the wonders of both styles. It’s pretty much the best way to get around the grape.
2x Te Pa Signature Series Pinot Gris 2023
White — Pinot Gris
Marlborough — New Zealand
This is an uber-friendly, incredibly approachable iteration of what is already an appealing variety - good for the bbq, the BYO, the beach, and everything in between. It has rich, ripe pear and stone fruits and a little bit of quince, then a beautifully crisp, mineral finish. I’d say this is for anyone who likes a slightly richer, more textured pinot gris with a good serving of lively fruit weight.
You’d pay $28 full price.

2x Atlas Wines Section 32 Pinot Gris 2022
White — Pinot Gris
Clare Valley — Australia
This is as fresh as they come: nashi pear, grapefruit, lemongrass, pineapple… I can imagine fresh, dew-dappled bouquets of herbs, citrusy zest finely grated over the top. Reminds me of the Little Creatures Pale Ale kind of aromatics - resinous and celebratory. Layered too, but instead of getting deeper it gets even more spritely, more exciting and aromatic. The finish is clean and refreshing, the colour has a tinge of pink.
You’d pay $27 full price.

2x Sorby Adams Handcrafted Pinot Gris 2023
White — Pinot Gris
Eden Valley — Australia
We have adored the red wines of the famed Simon 'Sorby' Adams, and we're beginning to show just as much enthusiasm with the white wines he has to offer. Having been head winemaker at Yalumba for 20 years, Simon certainly knows how to make top quality vino. This single vineyard pinot gris from the high vineyards of the Eden Valley is equally powerful and restrained. Showing layered notes of ripe pear, apple pie, and baking spices in a nuanced textural package, this pinot gris is perhaps one of the best we've ever offered in value and quality.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Twin Valleys Pinot Grigio 2023
White — Pinot Grigio
King Valley — Australia
Italy’s leading grape varieties have an established home in the King Valley, including the ever-popular pinot grigio. This example of the grape is bright with citrus and pear on the nose and freshness from the nose to the palate with a crisp, mineral finish. When given more time to develop in the glass, the wine shares a greater depth to its expression. Ripe red apple, nashi pear, and hints of sherbet on the nose. From a weekend BBQ to a plate of spaghetti marinara over candlelight, it’s a flexible food wine that is sure to please.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Paul Nelson De Taillevent Pinot Grigio 2023
White — Pinot Grigio
Great Southern — Australia
A brilliant all rounder. Peach and apricot fruit cup overlays tart green apple and winter pear. There is steeliness, too, which speaks to the grigio style. The acid sits low in the wine giving the stone fruit profie lift and drive without overtaking and consuming the wine. Perfect grigio, full marks.
You’d pay $29 full price.

2x Santa & D'Sas The King and I Pinot Grigio 2021
White — Pinot Grigio
King Valley — Australia
The King Valley is glorious gris and grigio growing country, and these folks certainly know what they’re doing with the grape. Nevertheless, the amount of flavour and complexity you get for your money is outstanding, and rather surprising. Luscious and layered, this wine is plentiful in flavour and loaded with orchard flavours. Apples and pears, exotic spices, clove and almond meal make for a marvellous marriage with Asian cuisine or creamy cheeses.
You’d pay $35 full price.
