Why do we love this case?
Gigondas is a small appellation that sits inside the broader Southern Rhone wine region - it is famous for producing exceptional grenache dominant red blends, the best of which go toe-to-toe with Rhone powerhouse Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Here we have three wines of distinction that will give you a stunning introduction to the region (if that’s what you seek) while also lifting your expectations to lofty heights that can never be matched anywhere close to this price point. So... sorry about that, I guess.
1x Domaine des Bosquets Le Plateau Gigondas 2019
Red — Other Red
Rhône Valley — France
The Domaine des Bosquets ‘Le Plateau’ is, first and foremost, a commanding wine. It is richly fruited, baked (but not jammy) red fruits and deeply ripe toover ripe black currant, brample and blood plum. Clove and fennel mix with tobacco and wet earth to round out what is a distinctly powerful wine. It has had enough down-time to find itself in the right drinking spot, but there’s no rush, you’ve easily got ten years to drink this, and that’s being conservative. Realistically, you could crack one of these beauties beyond 2040 and still be in for a marvelous time.

1x Domaine des Bosquets La Colline Gigondas 2019
Red — Grenache Blend
Rhône Valley — France
If you were looking for a wine that typifies the wines of Gigondas, well, look no more. Rich plums, spice, pebbly minerality, some baked rhubarb tartness that tightens your face a little as you imbibe. The aromatic profile casts a wide net - from rose petal to tobacco to bitter orange peel and amaro - making for a truly intriguing and complex experience. But hey, don’t take our word for it - see what the critics have got to say below.

1x Domaine des Bosquets Le Lieu Dit Gigondas 2019
Red — Grenache
Rhône Valley — France
This is something pretty special - a once in a lifetime wine. Jeb Dunnuck called it "one of the finest Gigondas ever made," and we wholeheartedly agree. A pure expression of the region and style, and one that will last the ages, too. Strawberries met spice meet dried, herbal flowers. That elegance sits on a bed of gnarled decay and rich, baked (but still sappy) fruits. This is rich and finessed, potent and precise. A Gigondas for the ages – stash this one away in the cellar and forget about it for years and years. Seriously. Enjoy it now or in 2050 (or anywhere in between for that matter) - the enviable choice is yours.
