Why do we love this case?
This is the cream of the crop, a case with the whole fruit salad of varieties - something for all of your dinner guests.
What is a 5 Star winery you ask?
Well... It’s a Halliday rating for a winery that has consistently produced wines of “exemplary quality and typicity”. - Basically you know these folk aren’t messing about!
2x Penley Estate Black Bull Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Guess who’s back and ready to go? One of our favourite Coonawarra producers, Penley Estate, has done the hard work to bring back this mofo fave drop. Aptly named, this robust cabernet packs a punch with strong, flavourful and classic Coonawarra characteristics we’ve all come to love and enjoy. Dark fruits of the black forest abound and surround the recogniseable cedary, minty core; while framed with superb mineral tannins that allow for youthful drinking while still earning a nook in your cellar over the next 10+ years.
You’d pay $50 full price.

Tasting Notes
2x Amelia Park Ironstone Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Frankland River — Australia
This wine is, without doubt, one of the most popular we’ve ever seen at Vinomofo. How popular is popular, you ask? Well, thirsty mofos took over 30,000 bottles of a previous vintage straight out of our hands. Yup. We know it’s a great wine deal but when our mofo members are this unanimous in their desire for this drop; well it’s simply cause for one big shiraz gluggin’ celebration.
Full bodied and silky smooth with lashings of plums and earthy spice; if you’re quaffing this Frankland River gem on a week night, know you’re in good company alongside many a mofo. With one fist in the air (and the other holding a glass of this wine) we salute you!
You’d pay $33 full price.

Tasting Notes
2x Thistledown Wild & Wilder 'Pugilist' Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Langhorne Creek — Australia
This pan-South Aussie producer is fast becoming a mofo favourite across their delicious red and white wines. They seek out parcels of quality grapes in Barossa, McLaren and in this case the maritime region of Langhorne Creek. Their wines are made to a high-standard across the range and are reliably delicious. This cabernet shows off a perfumed nose of flowers, juicy plums and dried herbs, followed by a medium-bodied, ripe and textured palate. There’s a gentle earthiness in the wine that is wrapped in blackberries and a lingering olive tapenade finish.
You’d pay $22 full price.

Tasting Notes
2x Haselgrove Bella Vigna Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This producer has to be one of the most consistently excellent wineries in McLaren Vale. Many of their wines get scores in the high-90s year after year and we reckon this wine may have the same fate, so were happy to get in before the reviews. The flavour’s there and the points will come. This one is McLaren Vale to a tee with all the dark, ripe berries, chocolate and spice you could want. It’s full-bodied and absolutely delightful. Trust us, mofo, this stuff is awesome.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Pepper Tree Wines Black Label Limited Release Shiraz Cabernet 2016
Red — Shiraz Blend
Wrattonbully — Australia
Big, bold and bright! It’s that classic Aussie combo of shiraz and cabernet, straight from Wrattonbully, the region with maybe the coolest name in Australia (one could argue for Tumbarumba though). Anyways, Wrattonbully runs up against Coonawarra on one side and the beach on the other. The grapes enjoy the maritime influence, leading to impressive structure in cabernet and condensed flavours in shiraz. Combining the two varietals gives you the best of both worlds with intense red fruit and spice, held together by soft, yet quite present tannins. No wonder us Aussies perfected this blend.
You’d pay $40 full price.

2x Sevenhill Inigo Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Clare Valley — Australia
Oooo yeah, that's the stuff. Clare shiraz doesn't get as much of a look in next to its big siblings in Barossa and McLaren Vale, but wines like this will turn your head all over again. Brightly aromatic, and instantly broad in its palate breadth. Fresh cola, violets, pencil shavings and fresh cocoa powder mingle with red plums, black cherry and redcurrants. This is a wine that is very hard not to love.
You’d pay $30 full price.
