Why do we love this case?
This is the cream of the crop, a case with the whole fruit salad of varieties - something for all of your dinner guests.
What is a 5 Star winery you ask?
Well... It’s a Halliday rating for a winery that has consistently produced wines of “exemplary quality and typicity”. - Basically you know these folk aren’t messing about!
2x Sidewood Estate Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Adelaide Hills — Australia
If we’re honest, there’s not a single reason that we don’t love this winery. They’re far from being one-trick ponies (although everyone can find a favourite in their range). Whether it be sensational sparkling, succulent sauvignon blanc, perfect pinot noir, or shining chardonnay. This time, the spotlight is on the shiraz. Selected fruit, estate crafted, 100% french oak treatment through fermentation and 15 months maturation, before final barrel selection is undergone. No stone left unturned, no drop of wine slips by without quality assured. To simply say this overdelivers doesn’t do it justice: this excels in its own category and ones above.
You’d pay $27 full price.

2x Dandelion Vineyards 'Lioness of the McLaren Vale' Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Dandelion Vineyards are one of those producers we have always admired: such a range of wines that really speak to quality and attention. So of course, McLaren Vale shiraz got us a little excited, and the wine really lived up to expectations. Densely laden with purity of fruit and a texture building oak profile: it's very hard to say no to a second glass of this gem.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Mitolo Jester Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Boasting all the dark fleshy plums and blackberries you can poke a stick at, with subtle but lingering black olive and chocolate nuances long after your final gulp. With a lusciously smooth texture and lingering liveliness on the back palate, you're guaranteed quality quaffing through the next few years. There's a reason the jester has long been a favourite drop for mofos around Australia, and the stellar 2021 vintage is no exception.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Reschke Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Limestone Coast — Australia
South Australia’s Limestone Coast is not quite as famous as a few neighbouring regions, and as a result the value to be found there is staggering. At this price, get set for your mind to be blown. It’s got the trademark florality of your classic coonawarra cabs, although we’re talking more intense black forest fruits and pepper rather than your typical violets and berries. If you're anything like us, you'll be astounded at the value here.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Haselgrove Cul Stor Shiraz Cabernets 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Multiple vintages of Haselgrove's Cul Stor shiraz blend have rushed into our warehouse and zoomed straight back out and to your front door faster than you can say ‘shiraz blended with cab sav and a splash of cab franc’. At its core, we have all the plush dark berries, plums and chocolatey goodness that you’d expect from Mclaren Vale. But the blend of cabernets is what lifts this drop way above entry level, firm tannins and a liveliness on the back palate provide wonderful length and serious structure; perfect to pair with your good old fashioned Sunday roast lamb with all the trimmings.
You’d pay $45 full price.

2x Thistledown Wild & Wilder 'The Unforgettable' GSM 2023
Red — GSM
South Australia — Australia
GSM - the ‘Holy Trinity’ of South Aussie reds. It’s the simple, but pleasing harmony of the blend that is nearly better than the sum of its parts. This is a ripe and succulent red that shows off the best of all three varieties. Grenache brings red berries, plums and a bit of warmth. Shiraz adds spice and acid. And then mataro contributes a wonderfully floral nose and its famous inky colour. This is a solid and tasty version of the blend, sure to please fans of the style
You’d pay $22 full price.
