Why do we love this case?
Here, we bring you the best of the best. These are the wines that our producers have loved so dearly that they've kept a few behind at the cellar for their future selves (and, some lucky customers who might get the winemakers on a good day). We've had to do some really sweet talking, a little bit of begging, and a lot of string-pulling to curate this case. Presenting: the Aged. Shiraz. Selection. It feels good to say it, and even better to drink it
1x Alkoomi Wines Jarrah Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
Frankland River — Australia
Oak, tick. Concentrated fruit, tick. Bottle age, tick. From the oldest vines on the property, some dating back to 1971, this wine is held back before release until the perfect moment. Turns out that perfect moment is right now. Big and rich, two words that show up in almost every (overwhelmingly complimentary) review of this wine. That's not to say that it still doesn't hold the spice and mineral characteristics that the Frankland River region has become so famous for. Old vine fruit and a comprehensive oak regime create a framework for some of the more regional tastes to exist in. If you're looking for a wine that's going to impress rusted on SA shiraz drinkers and wine bar-sitting, glass-swirling hipsters alike then stop looking. This one's got you covered.

1x Rojomoma Red Art Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Many might say that 2017 was an a-typical vintage for Barossa, and its success is often overshadowed by the outstanding vintages that came before and after. We're here to tell you, this is not a vintage to be overlooked. The cooler overall temperatures mean that aromatic power is unrivalled, as seen in this vintage of Rojomoma's flagship. Results speak for themselves, as this vintage takes the cake as one of the most awarded to date. Blackforest cake, licorice, violets and orane bitters will greet you with arms wide open, welcoming you to this seamless shiraz experience. Beauty and balance build a sort of tension that is hard to ignore, and impossible to forget.
You’d pay $40 full price.

1x Geoff Merrill Pimpala Vineyards Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Not to be confused with Geoff Merrill’s ‘Pimpala Road’ range, these Pimpala Vineyard wines are careful barrel selections from Geoff’s reserve range. This has spent no less than 20 months in French and American oak barrels, plus over three years in the cellar to let all its powerful fruit and decadent oak flavour all meld together. It’s like liquid black chocolate cake, with the Vale’s dark chocolate and heady spice flavours oozing head-on into dark cherry, blackcurrant leaf and roasted coconut. We’re always happy to see Geoff’s wines in the warehouse, and even happier to see them in our glass.
You’d pay $65 full price.

1x Five Geese Jon's Block Reserve Shiraz 2015
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
There's a reason this wine has a 4.0 Vivino average. This 9 year old Reserve made from 50 year old vines is full-bodied, smooth, spicy and peppery, long-lasting and refined. Blewitt Springs is the northern region of McLaren Vale and is home to some of the oldest vines in the Vale. This Reserve level shiraz sourced from 50y.o. vines spent 24 months in 25% new French oak. The result is a silky darkly fruited delight that is both vibrant and deep, spiced and rich with a long lingering finish.
