2x Watkins Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
South Australia — Australia
These producers might be a new name to some, but their time in the industry goes way back. As evidenced by this cellar selection, they’ve honed the art of crafting wines that stand the test of time. This is an all-family affair, with the new generation stepping in to take the reigns. They’re finally releasing some beauties from their back vintages, and we were quick to jump in and bring our mofos that aged goodness. Cabernet off their currency creek vineyards gave this wine the confidence to see it through the last 6 years, with more still to come. This is the kind of wine that greets you like an old friend. Instantly familiar and merry, sure to entertain you for hours.

2x Reschke Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Smooth and rich Coonawarra cab? Say no more. We’re not going to talk to you like you don’t know what to expect, and instead we’re going to tell you why this wine is the next best thing. There’s everything you crave in the style: cocoa, minty, eucalypt mingling with blackcurrants aplenty. What’s that? Oh, in comes a smattering of smokey spice, a dollop of dark jammy fruits, and an emerging earthy tone that sets everything in its place.
You’d pay $55 full price.

2x Pertaringa Lakeside Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
McLaren Vale — Australia
Pertaringa are no strangers to the wine game, and we're sure they're no strangers to you either. Started by Geoff Hardy, now in the hands of his daughter Bec Hardy, it's apparent that no matter the wine, this brand smashes the quality out of the park. This cabernet comes off a few blocks, and serves up juicy black fruits and densely packed coffee and tobacco notes. This is one heavy-hitter, no wonder Wine Enthusiast named this amongst their top 100 wines of 2021. This is a slam-dunk of a wine.
You’d pay $22 full price.

2x Patrick of Coonawarra Two Blocks Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Patrick of Coonawarra really walk and talk quality. You might think that’s an inherent product of small family businesses, but we certainly know that’s not always the case. There’s unbelievable value packed into this bottle, with no effort or attention to detail spared. A decent 40% new oak contributes to sweet, abundant tannins that really make the whole drinking experience that much more exciting. This won over more than a few hearts at the tasting bench, so we’re pretty confident in saying that you’re going to be head over heels for it too, mofo.

2x Mitolo Jester Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is a jaw-dropping value delight from a Vale winery many a mofo has fallen in love with. This wine is built to entertain; its reason for being is to let the good times roll. Think jubilant, ripe fruit flavours with plushness to spare. A solid sprinkling of tannin keeps the edges in check and dribble-inducing flavours of liquered Morello cherry and chocolate abound.
You’d pay $27 full price.

2x Helen & Joey Inara Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Yarra Valley — Australia
The Yarra Valley has a long, proud history of cabernet production, it's only in recent years that its been less about the bigger reds and more about the pinot and chardy. This, however, speaks to that historical prowess with great confidence; rich, robust, black and red fruited cab with a thin yet persistent line of freshness running both through the fruit profile and the acid structure.
