Why do we love this whisky?
Previously only available in travel retail outlets, this is a new hybrid-blend concept whisky combining whiskies from the five most noteworthy whisky regions of the world; Japan, Scotland, Ireland, Canada and America. Named 'Ao' meaning “blue” in Japanese, and presented in a unique five-sided bottle to represent the five countries and evoke thoughts of “the oceans that connect these distilleries together”.
Vivid, elegant, yet deep in profile. Multi-layered notes of orange peel, banana and mild spice are enhanced by a supple sweetness that persists throughout the pleasantly sharp and smoky finish. This whisky, artfully blended by Suntory's Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo, shows impeccable balance and is an absolute masterclass in blending a diverse selection of high-quality whiskies into one seamless product.
