Why do we love this case?
The Masahiro Distillery, founded in 1883, is one of the oldest and largest distilleries in Okinawa, Japan. The art of distillation has been masterfully practised here for over 140 years by expertly harnessing the power of early maturation brought about by the unique sub-tropical climate of Okinawa, the only prefecture in Japan within a subtropical region.
The nose and palate of this delightful amber liquid is full of citrus, pineapple, banana, and an array of tropical fruits with ginger, sweet vanilla ice cream and woody flavours adding roundness and balance. Lingering spice is the perfect companion to the subtle sweetness present in the dram's sweet and spicy finish.
Masahiro Distillery’s philosophy is to “produce only the best spirits and liquors”, with the ambition of “becoming one of the world's leading producers of premium whisky” and we think they're right on track with this fabulously enjoyable expression.
