Why do we love this whisky?
The sherry casks finish that Jim Murray's Whisky Bible described as absolutely top class wine cask finishing...Sophisticated, elegant and classy. We couldn't agree more, Jim! After 10 years in ex-bourbon casks to impart the rich vanilla and honeyed glory one would expect, Glenkinchie then finishes this delicious single malt in amontillado sherry casks from Jerez. This adds a nutty complexity, but also imparts some vinous grape notes, a touch of light custard and dried fruit. What a delicious way to pass the time!
