Why do we love this whisky?
Since 1856 Glenfarclas, has been overseen by just one family, the Grants of Glenfarclas. Bottled at 46%, simply because that's how grandfather Grant liked it best, the 15 year old is matured in 60% ex-sherry casks, and 40% ex-bourbon – but not as you know it. The bourbon barrels are shaved back in order to minimise their input on the resulting dram, allowing the focus to be solely on the sherry influence. The result is one of the most full-bodied and bold in the Glenfarclas range and boasts a big, rich, Christmas cake profile.
