Why do we love this whisky?
The GlenAllachie distillery is known for its impressive collection of casks, with over 50,000 casks spanning across 16 on-site warehouses. An expertly married mix of single malt from pedro ximénez and oloroso sherry casks, along with rioja barriques and medium toast virgin American oak barrels, this intensely mahogany Speyside malt sits proudly next to its award-winning predecessors.
It's bursting to the brim with ripe and dried red berries, hazelnut and heather honey. There are hints of orchard fruits, cinnamon, mocha and gingersnaps and the silky palate has luscious lashings of dark chocolate followed by honeycomb, ginger, plum and toffee on the finish.
