The Mars Shinshu distillery, perched at 800 meters in the Japanese Alps, truly benefits from its unique environment. The use of pure mineral water from Mt. Komagatake adds a distinct purity to the whisky.
For the 2021 edition, the meticulous blending of selected single malts showcases the distillery's craftsmanship. The maturation primarily in Bourbon and Sherry casks contributes to its complex flavour profile, offering enticing notes of ripe fruits like quince and apricot, complemented by a touch of banana and vanilla on the nose.
On the palate, the sweetness of honey and melon intertwines with ripe persimmon, while hints of hazelnut from the Sherry cask round out the experience. The smooth and elegant finish makes it a standout expression, reflecting both the quality of the terroir and the artistry of Japanese whisky-making.

"2021 Edition" is a single malt whiskey bottled exclusively for 2021, a well-balanced blend of bourbon barrel, sherry cask, and port cask aged malts.
