Rob Dolan Wines Chardonnay 2023
A crowd favourite from the Yarra Valley, Rob Dolan has been a benchmark for delicious chardy for as long as we can remember. It’s bursting with personality (much like the larger-than-life Rob himself). There’s a nice line of lemony citrus, hints of cashew and a sneaky oak backbone holding it all together. If you've ever met Rob you've probably heard him sing the praises of Yea as a growing region, so while this is mainly Yarra Valley fruit there's a bit of Yea chardonnay in there, too. It gives the wine breadth and oh-so important palate weight. Pour us another glass and let's get settled in.
Sophie Schaal Chardonnay 2024
One of our quickest selling and most requested international wines has finally come back into stock and we are buzzing. Rich and round, plenty of fruit and soft natural acid with a hint of minerality. This is a cracking chardonnay at an amazing price and we are as excited about the wine as we are to work with Sophie’s range into the future.
Chardonnay 2023 - Black Market Deal #54949
A reviewer, who can't be named (Black Market - you know the drill), described this wine as, "impressive and enjoyable", and that's pretty much the whole point of this wine. Yep, it's made well; vibrant, juicy acid, pristine lemon and white peach and a slight creaminess from partial malolactic fermentation. But this cheeky little number is also a whole bunch of fun; zippy, zesty, refreshing and bright. Definitely one for when you feel like a chardonnay but it's a bit hot out for melted butter in a glass. This'll keep for another four or five years but as the winemakers say, "Made to be enjoyed!".
Pirramimma Heritage Limited Edition Chardonnay 2024
We don’t need to tell you about Pirramimma, do we? By now if you’re a regular of Vinomofo, we’re betting that you’ve tried a drop or two from this legendary winery. To say their red wines have been fan favourites would be to severely understate the cult following of this brand. Yes mofo, their white wines are truly as iconic as their reds. This is as abundant as you might expect (or crave), abound with notes of toast, crème brûlée, hazelnut and ripe peaches. This is the kind of chardonnay everyone needs a case of in the cellar.
Twin Valleys Reserve Chardonnay 2023
An explosion of tropical fruit with the nuance of ripe peach following close by. There's real ripeness in play, too, which plays well with the creamy, full mouthfeel. All of that fruit is set against a bit of caramel or burnt butter, adding layers of complexity and nuance. A really clever wine - balanced, rich, peppy - an out-and-out pleasure to drink.
